5 things to let go from your wardrobe today!

If you are thinking of doing a wardrobe declutter it can seem a bit overwhelming. My advice is start slowly and do it in stages.  To get you started,  I’m talking about 5 things you can let go from your wardrobe today!

1         Anything that doesn’t fit – don’t hold onto wrong sized or ill-fitting garments. If things are too baggy and shapeless or too tight you won’t feel good in them. Time to let them go and shop for the size and shape you are now.

2         Anything that is stained or damaged beyond repair. The ‘beyond repair’ is key here if it’s something you love make sure you look at the options to get it back to its best. Dry cleaners can you tell you honestly if they can remove a stain, zips can be replaced and hems repaired but if you have exhausted the options it’s time to donate to a textile clothing collection.

3         Anything that doesn’t fit your lifestyle now – I was guilty of hoarding items from my past corporate life smart shift dresses and pencil skirts but my lifestyle changed and now I need comfortable yet stylish clothes to run around in. I sold my office wear and got a nice amount to re-invest in my wardrobe. If this sounds familiar do the same and let those items go to a new home.

4         Anything that you don’t feel comfortable in – this follows on from number 1 but sometimes something can still fit but for some reason you just aren’t ‘feeling it’ Our style is always evolving ad something you loved before might not be for you anymore so let it go and make room for the styles you are loving now.

5         Anything with the label still on –  believe me unless it is a very recent purchase if you haven’t worn it that’s a big sign that you aren’t loving it so take it back if you can or re-sell it but also heed the lesson and take note to make more considered purchases going forwards and less impulse buys

I hope you find these tips useful and feel inspired to get started!
