My go to accessories for summer

Investing in a few on trend accessories is a really easy way to update your summer outfits. Some key trends to look out for this season are -

• Chain necklaces and layered necklaces. These have been around for a while and are great for wearing over logo t-shirts or adding a bit of an edgier vibe to floral tops and dresses. The silver one I am wearing here is from next and the layered gold one from River Island.

• Basket bags and sun hats - these come around every summer so its worth investing in them to use every year. As well as the neutral straw bags there are some great coloured ones around. Check preloved sites as well as the shops. This lime green one was from Ebay. If like me you don’t suit a wide brimmed sun hat try the menswear department for a more minimal style. This one I am wearing is from Primark Menswear.

• You can’t go wrong with hairbands again this season. Great for keeping your hair off your face and tidy in the heat. There are so many colours and prints around. I love this animal print one from Boots to add a bit of interest.

• This summer coloured beaded jewellery is having a moment! These earrings and necklace are from Zara they have some wonderful pieces in at the moment and why not try a colourful statement ring? These are from a small business on Instagram cocomaxarella. Each one is hand made. I love to support small businesses where I can. So have fun with your accessories this Summer!
